Dazz is a unique
blend of Jon-E's native African Dance Style: Afro-Rhythm, combined with the following modern Dance
Styles: 'Savage Jazz', Street-Dance, Break-Dancing, Acrobatics, Mime and Robotics!
Jon-e's Career as a Dance Instructor, began in Montreal, in 1983 when he and his brother, Eugene, taught "DAZZ"
DANCE CLASSES at: M.A.D School, West Island Dance Centre, L'école les Ballets
de Montréal and L'école les Ballets Jazz de Montréal.
Jon-E then moved to Ottawa in 1984 and continued teaching "DAZZ" at: Dovercourt Community
Centre (1986-1987), the Jazz-Hot Dance Company (1995), Bayshore Recreation Centre (2000), Minto Skating Club (2001-2002),
Cyrville Community Centre (2001), The R.A. Centre (2000-2001), Ottawa Athletic Club (2002), many local Schools and Private
Schools and is currently teaching at both the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, the Ottawa-Carleton Catholic
School Board (including Adult Classes) and the Nepean Skating Club!
"DAZZ" DANCE WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS, CAMPS COMPANIES, COMMUNITIES
ETC:
Description: Each Workshop is forty-five minutes to
one hour in length (Depending on School, Camp etc. ), & taught by Jon-E-Shakka/ShakkaProject ! These
Workshops are suitable for JK-OAC (Adults also love it!). One or a series of workshops (classes) may be booked!
Format: Each workshop begins with :
1) A Dance Demonstration by Jon-E-Shakka/ShakkaProject,
to capture student's attention & inspire them.
2) A History of Jon-E's dance background
& culture
3) A Warm-up
4) Instruction of the various Dance
Elements involved in "DAZZ": Afro-Rhythm, Jazz. Hip-Hop, Break-Dance (no spinning involved), Mime & Robotics!
5) Choreography Instruction
6) A Warm-down!
Discount: A 10% discount is offered on bookings of over 100
